Better late than never… My 2019 Make Nine

This is the first year that I am planning an official “Make Nine,” and I am so excited to participate! If you don’t know about this challenge, then definitely check out @makeninechallenge on instagram!

I used MyBodyModel templates for my designs. If you have not heard of this company, you are in for a treat! You enter your measurements and a high-quality, custom template of YOUR body prints out! There is a wide variety of print options, depending on how you like to plan. Plus, they just released a new upgrade so there are some fancy new options like a back view.

I am not affiliated with MyBodyModel, I just love-love-love their product! Check it out!

So, here we go: my plans! I’ve included links to the sites wherever I can!

  1. Grainline Lark Tee. I have had the pattern and the fabric for over a year… I have been trying to overcome my fear of the serger! This is the year it happens, folks. I wear this kind of tee ALL THE TIME, so it is really time for it to be me-made instead of RTW.
  2. Making Bag. I adore the Making Bag in the Black and White issue of Making Magazine. The zipper will add a fun little challenge. I’m hoping this will be (another) knitting project bag to tote around while the kids have activities.
  3. Gimme Shelter Hat. A knit for the list! I have been pumping out dishcloths like there is no tomorrow, but it is time to put my new knitting skills to the test!
  4. Hinterland Dress. I was unsure about this pattern until I “tried it on” MyBodyModel! I think it is going to work really nicely for my curves. I am dreaming of just the right color in some Brussels Washer Linen…
  5. Brunswick Pullover. This will have to be one of the first I make, because there is still plenty of winter left in Maine and I need something snuggly.
  6. Blackwood Cardigan. Do you see what is happening here? LOTS of knits on my challenge list – I will conquer this serger!
  7. Washi Dress. This has been on my “want-to-make” list for a long time. I think it will be just the thing to help me survive those hot days at the end of the school year.
  8. Suki Kimono. I picked up a gorgeous Art Gallery rayon for this robe. Don’t we all need a little glamour while wearing a robe around the house?!
  9. Emerson Pants. Perhaps the biggest challenge of all – I am going to attempt pants this year! I will lengthen them to be full-length.

Are you planning your own Make Nine Challenge? I’d love to see your plans!
