Masks for Dayzzz

Pardon my radio-silence for a bit. In December of 2019 I sustained a concussion (my second as an adult). I was away from work for 6 months because I could not use a computer without headaches – so away from blogging as well!

I was able to get back at my sewing machine in March – just in time for everyone’s project-of-the-year: MASKS!

I adapted a pattern that I found online and made my own fabric strips for dozens of masks (ouch, the burned fingers from the iron!). I also made a bunch of child-sized masks with stretchy knit fabric ties and toggles for options on ways to wear.

For our family, these masks that tie around the neck are easy to use for hikes so that we can take a quick mask break when we are alone. But after making over 150 (donations to church, making for friends, donations to schools)… I feel just about done with making masks. Wearing them is enough for now – I have more fun things to make!
