So there you go! My first “make” of the 2019 Make Nine is completed. Eight to go!I got this great little pattern from a local-to-me yarn shop, KnitWit. If you are in or around Portland, Maine, this is a great shop to check out. They have tons of delicious fibers and very helpful and knowledgeable staff!
This was my original plan (using my template from MyBodyModel, of course!)

So, the Gimme Shelter Hat is a simple, knit-in-the-round hat that only requires knowledge of the knit and purl stitches. There is a ribbed brim then stockinette stitch for the rest.

I learned to knit with double-pointed needles and I love the technique used to reduce stitches in a way that was symmetrical to each side of the hat.

Once I knit up my own version, you know that my little ones insisted on receiving their own! Although they were slightly different sizes, I ended up customizing with pompoms so the kids could tell the hats apart!

All the yarns are Malabrigo Rios in a variety of colorways. I do so adore that yarn!
