Me Made May Week #3

This week it seemed like Maine pressed the “summer” button – time for light, flowy dresses and skirts! I also worked on my next me-made garment, a pair of the free range slacks.

OOTD #1

Fancy Tiger Crafts Fen Dress in Brussels Washer linen-rayon blend

This has been my go-to summer dress for the past few years. On a hot day, I love the light minty color and the flowy linen. The Fen dress is perfect for casual days spent hanging around in the yard with the kids, but I also like to dress it up a little bit with jewelry – you know, for if I ever get to eat in a restaurant again!

Liesl & Co Everyday Skirt in Rifle Paper Co Rayon challis

The Adventure tank is such a great pattern. I really love the racer-back version and I have made three! I like how it looks with shorts or a skirt. This black version looks put-together with an everyday skirt – but it is totally secret pajamas because this knit is sooooo comfy!

OOTD #3

Sew Liberated Hinterland Dress with three-quarter sleeves and full placket in Brussels Washer Rayon-linen Blend

I love the sagey green of this linen – it makes it so versatile throughout the seasons. And speaking of versatility, the Hinterland Dress continues to be a workhorse for me in my spring wardrobe. The sleeve options, the placket options, the length options… I just love the variety of Hinterland dresses in my wardrobe. I also added a little something extra with rows of sashiko stitching on the hems of the sleeves and skirt.

Sew House 7 – Free range slacks

I have had this pattern for a year now, and it was finally time to just dig in! I am using my trusty Brussels Washer  yarn-dyed linen-rayon blend for this project. So far I have managed to cut out the pants. I am using the wider leg version, and I added three inches of length so they would be full-length instead of cropped. I had to cut out on the floor because my table and mat were not quite long enough for each pant leg – torture! Totally worth it to have some flowy pants in my spring wardrobe, though!
